Over the years Smithy Farm Nurseries has built up a reputation as the area’s premier independent nursery for the supply of home grown bedding plants, perennial plants, vegetable plants and finished ready planted containers and hanging baskets to the local region.

Our on-site garden centre provides us with an opportunity to sell our own varieties directly to the public, therefore delivering unrivalled value for our customers.

Along with our friendly dedicated team of staff, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products. We’ll only supply you with plants that we would be happy to buy ourselves!

We take pride in our hands on approach. Unlike most nurseries who rely on bought in plants, the majority of our young plant propagation is still done in-house. We have precision sowing machines that place seeds directly into plug cells for the germination process.

To add to our range we source a wide range of popular and unusual high-quality shrubs and small trees for your garden and have built up an excellent reputation for offering carefully curated selection.

As commercial growers here at Smithy Farm we have a large onsite nursery with 3 large glass houses, 6 roller shaded tunnels and propagating house, where we can control climatic factors, nutrition and other variables that encourage top quality plant growth and development.

Our range includes an extensive range of perennials, seasonal bedding and patio plants including;

Alyssum, Antirrhinum, Begonias, French and African Marigolds, Fuchsias, Geraniums, Lobelia, Pelegoniums, Petunias, Surfinias, Pansies and Violas, to name but a few.

Our large home grown range of Perennial Plants, including lupins, salvia, delphiniums, lavender, rudbeckia, verbascum, phlox and much more.

Our shrubs include, camellias, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, magnolias. We have specimen acer trees, flamingo trees, standard holly, standard ilex, standard red robin trees and many more varieties on offer.
The shrub selection is a quirky mix chosen from our reputable suppliers which we have worked with for many years.

We also offer a varied range of home grown VEGETABLE PLANTS to purchase and a great selection of HERBS are available for your herb garden too.

A comprehensive selection of seeds including both flower and vegetable are also stocked.

The garden centre has everything you need for your garden with an extensive range of compost, landscaping aggregates, tools, and sundries.
